Tokyo 2020 Outreach

Sports Fans Outreach International, P33 Ministries, and P33 Adventures are teaming up for the first time ever!

Have you always dreamed of sharing your faith in a foreign country? Are you excited about leading someone you do not know to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? If this is you, have we got an adventure for you!

Bill Adams and David Thornton, two great evangelists, are teaming up to lead an outreach at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games. If you love sharing the Gospel with anyone, anytime, this is the trip for you. Bill and David will be leading teams out onto the streets of Tokyo everyday to share their faith.

Joel Thornton is an international human rights attorney with vast experience protecting the rights of evangelists at major sporting events. He has worked on these issues at the Olympics in Atlanta 1996, Salt Lake 2002, Athens 2004, Torino 2006, and London 2012. He has worked on these issues at the Soccer World Cup Tournaments in the USA 1994, Germany 2006, and South Africa 2010 and the Eurocup in Switzerland and Austria in 2008. He will be there protecting the rights of the evangelists on the streets every day. Imagine, having your own personal attorney on an outreach.

What is so special about evangelism at the Olympics? People from around the world are going to be gathering in Tokyo. For two weeks the world descends on the City of Tokyo. It is interesting just to roam the streets and watch the people interacting. The streets will be electric with activity and people looking to strike up conversations with strangers. Many of whom speak English. It is all part of the Olympic experience. If you have never experienced it, it is hard to explain.

In the midst of that environment you can share your faith and experience the changing of peoples lives through public evangelism in a public place in a foreign country. Now, that is hard to explain and impossible to beat as far as a life experience.

We will depart on July 22, 2020 from Atlanta, Georgia and fly to Tokyo, Japan. We will be staying outside of Tokyo and commuting in each day for the outreach. Every day will be outreach at different public areas around the games. We are coming to work. This is not a vacation. Having said that, we will be taking one day to be tourists in Tokyo, seeing some of the sights, experiencing the city in all its glory. We will return to Atlanta on July 31, 2020.

The cost of the trip includes economy class round trip airfare, accommodations for the entire time we are in Japan, breakfast and dinner each day, transportation while in Japan, and all the materials for outreach like brochures, pamphlets, tracts. It will not include lunch, water while you are out and about, souvenirs, entrance to any Olympic events, or entrance to tourist sites on the day we tour the city.

If you want to see an event on the day we are going to be tourists in Japan you need to arrange that yourself.  To learn more, contact Sports Fans Outreach International at www.sfoi.org or email Joel directly at joel@p33adventures.com.
